Let me start by saying there is absolutely nothing wrong with this movie. Its not one of those “aliens invade and try to take over world” scenarios. I don’t think this movie could have come much closer to perfect than it already did. It has everything that could please many different types of moviegoers. Easily my favorite movie that I have seen this summer …No big name actors are in this either. This movie takes place in South Africa, when in 1982, an alien ship runs out of fuel above a city. Nothing comes out of the ship for 3 months until it is opened by the mysterious MNU organization that controls the alien visitors. The aliens are found starved in their ship, so they are sent to live in slums down below, with barely any rights. The day comes to evict them after years of their unwanted presence on Earth, and the task is given to one man who accidentally stumbles upon some alien fluid that reforms his genetics. The rest of the movie hes just running for his life from the government using the SICKK alien weapons. The movie starts as a documentary and collection of interviews, and as more things begin to happen, it transforms itself into an actual movie. This is the most believable sci-fi movie I have ever seen.

“An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology.”

This movie sad under a desk in my house depressingly, unwatched because of its annoying, stupid name. Tonight I decided to look at the IMDb Top 250 Movies of All-Time and I found this one fairly high up on the list. Knowing it was in my house, I gave it a go…and wow. This movie prove to be an incredible piece of film. Randall McMurphy is to be thrown in jail, until he decides to convince the judge that he is mentally insane, so he is thrown into a mental hospital, instead of jail. The mental institute is run by a tyrannical Nurse Ratched, who McMurphy can’t wait to humiliate..and the plot of this movie is basically him plotting with the other patients to make Nurse Ratched’s life a living hell. It also has a really messed up twist, so this movie is a MUST SEE. Reviewed by Mr. Freeway

Let me start by saying that Moon was the best science fiction film I have ever seen, hands down. This movie was a limited release, as it was an independent film, and I traveled an hour away to Waltham to see it. It was 100% worth the trip, because I left intrigued by the story of Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell), a man sent to the moon in his lonesome to complete a 3 year contract for the company “Lunar Industries”. The live satellite appears to be broken, and provides no way for live communication home..and video messages have to be pre-recorded and sent back and forth…but video messages coming to him seem strangely editing. Things start to go very differently when Sam gets into a violent crash on his lunar rover, and wakes up back at his base. He is confused about what has happened, and his computer friend “Gerty” (Kevin Spacey) informs him of his recent crash. Sam then finds a way to go to the crashed rover, and finds…his damaged, but still alive body in the crash…what is going on here on this extremely lonely place? This was the best science fiction movie for a variety of reasons. Its strongly provokes thought..because you try and imagine Sam’s struggle as the Earth is in his full view at all times, yet he has no way of communicating with them, including his wife Tes and daughter Eve. Right now..think of a possible ending to this movie, and you are probably wrong. DEFINETLY worth seeing this movie, if you can get to a theater showing it. Reviewed by Mr. Freeway

0,000 B.C. was the worst movie I have ever paid to see in the cinema. The film is absolutely ridiculous; with an unknown cast, ugly people, half-assed special effects, and a horrible unoriginal plot that doesn’t make one bit of sense. Do not watch the trailer or look at a movie poster and start to think this movie might be good. I am not speaking from opinion here, this movie was painful for everyone in the crowded cinema- trust me, many people walked out. The characters in this movie are undefined, as is the plot. All I saw was a bunch of guys (or women, you can’t tell) running around a snowy atmosphere then miraculously appearing in a tropical swamp to be chased by a giant ostrich. I’m not kidding. The movie was terribly written and terribly filmed- if it even was filmed- it looks fake anyways. 10,000 B.C. has cheesy, unoriginal ideas that make it boring as hell. The typical girl coming back to life with a kiss is one of the unoriginal ideas in this movie. I have seen that in so many other movies except in 10,000 B.C., the girl was hideous and I wanted her to stay dead because she was annoying anyways. I could go on forever about this failure, but reminiscing aout the film makes me sick. Giant mammoths, eskimo prophets, young savage hunters, and ugly girls make this movie what it is- unbearable.
The Matrix movies are cool, I’m not gonna deny that, but a very cool idea can only go so far. I believe this series could have been compressed into one single movie, and not dragged out into 3, so I am writing this review including all the movies together. The first and second movies were relatively great, but neither of them really had an sort of satisfying ending. The series begins as Tom Anderson (Keanu Reeves) is shown the truth about his world, and learns that his mind, alike the minds of everyday civilians, is all a computerized world. “It is hard to tell the difference between the real world….and the dream world” says Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) as Tom is taken into his secret lair. It is believed by inhabitants of the Matrix that Neo is “The One” who can save them from the Machines which the human race themselves built. This story could have been a lot better if it didn’t introduce the fake/fantasy machines. It would have been so much better/simpler if Agent Smith was just a virus in the Matrix, and the defeat of him would save the world. These were decent movies, but lacked the support by a good story, and lost interest level. The fight scenes/bullet dodging is awesome though, and influenced almost every action movie that comes out today….Matrix Revolutions sucked by the way…this movie would be somewhere in the 80′s for reviews if Revolutions wasn’t so bad…Reviewed by Mr. Freeway

Pleasantville was more of a message than a story. The special effects in this movie are incredible and it is hard to imagine the time it took to make some things in color while others remain black&white. David (Tobey Maguire) and Jennifer (Reese Witherspoon) are twins living in a modern day town where modern day things happen, and one day they are somehow transported to a 1950′s television-perfect town called Pleasantville, and they see everything in black&white. As their influence from the modern world starts to taint the “pleasant” town, things start changing into color, and the people who remain colorless begin to get angry with these changes, including the “perfect” mayor. Is the change to color for the better or for worse in Pleasantville?

This movie really did a lot for me. When I first saw this movie I believed that I was at the age in my life where I would no longer enjoy animated films, but this one really got my interest. The visual effects in this movie are mind blowing, and it amazes me how a feature length movie of this quality can be made using only CGI. WALL•E is a robot with the task of cleaning up the polluted Earth while humans lounge around on a space-ship waiting for his job to be completed. The humans periodically send “EVE Probes” to test the planet’s cleanliness, and they mostly always return negative, until WALL•E finds a plant for EVE. EVE is then captured by the ship and taken back to the ship with WALL•E following along into the vastness of space. This movie was so good because the robots are never given a voice. WALL•E and EVE only speak each others names or one word phrases throughout the movie. This is probably the best Pixar movie created to date. See this movie.

Neil Paige is a marketing agent, Del Griffith is a shower-curtain ring salesman, and they cross paths as Neil (Steve Martin) is traveling home to see his waiting family for Thanksgiving, (on the busiest travel day of the year). Everything that can get in the way of Neil getting home, gets in the way of Neil getting home… One of these “roadblocks” is Del Griffith (John Candy) a constant but lovable annoyance, and after a day of being with Del, Neil gets fed up and extremely irritated with his new found friend, who he can’t get rid of. He spends all his energy hating the poor man without realizing what a lonely guy Del really is. This movie is incredible in the sense that it delivers a great laugh and also makes you feel for the characters. I highly recommend this film. Reviewed by Mr. Freeway

The Dark Knight is Christopher Nolan’s follow up to Batman Begins, and usually a follow up means a failure, but in NO way is this the case here. This could be the best movie of the year. With the passing of Heath Ledger, the Joker seems that much more horrific. Christian Bale plays a great Batman and Aaron Eckhardt a great two-face, but they are completely over shadowed by the performance that got Ledger a posthumous oscar. Why So Serious, IDK but Ledger does. Review by Mr. Fallglass

In comparison to the box office gross of any other movie in history, Titanic is “unsinkable”. The most expensive movie ever created (200 Million) happens to have made the most money in history ($1,848,813,795……wow). No other movie has come close to Titanic, because it appealed to so many people. So many movie-viewers can connect or sympathize with the struggles of trying to see the one they love, or imagine what it would be like to be in a 29 degree ocean with a 46,328 ton ship sinking next to your face, killing the people you had tea with the night before. This movie really documents the maritime disaster well, especially when it shows the faces of the helpless rich people who have never had to deal with an issue in their lives. That is why this is the most successful movie of all time. At the center of the movie is the classic love story; Jack Dawson (Leo DiCaprio………yes another Leo movie, we like Leo) is a poor American traveling the world, and when he wins a ticket to America on the Titanic in a poker game he steps aboard with excitement. He eventualy falls in love with a woman named Rose DeWitt Beucader (Kate Winslet) and they struggle to keep their fiery relationship low key (as Rose is already engaged to another man named Kal (Billy Zane)) Eventually the relationship hits an iceberg, same with the Titanic itself, and begins to sink as Kal and his bodygaurd chase Jack and Rose in a race against time, for the ship has hours before it is at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean… Reviewed by Mr. Freeway
